An anthropomorphic P-51 Mustang comes in for a landing.
I can't really say where this idea came from. I just really happen to like the old fighters of World War II. I also wanted to make a large digital picture.
I'm rather happy with this one, it took a lot less time than most of my usual digital stuff, and it came out fairly well. I think I'm finally figuring out a method for working in photoshop that I like. I also learned a lot about custom brushes.
Of course, if the pilot were smart he'd be landing into the wind, not with it. Let's just pretend that the winds shifted mid landing .
Done in Photoshop 6.0 over scanned pencil sketch.

Check out the guns on Mustang Landing by ~turbofanatic, coming in to touchdown! A stunningly energetic artwork and a nice piece of design too. (Featured by `rocksicle)
Okay, now that is cool. It's great to see such original stuff, especially in the anthro gallery (which always seems so stagnant...).
Lovely interpretation of the fighter, it's very creative. I love the way you did the propeller - where it is and how it's drawn. The head in general is pretty sweet. The propeller looks very realistic and definitely like it's in motion. Good lighting, too. The shadows and highlights are pronounced without being tacky. I also like the composition, how there's nothing but sky behind the fighter.
The only nitpick I have is the grass in the foreground - while it's very good dramatically, it doesn't quite look right technically. Compared to the grass behind it, it seems rubbery, less stiff, and rounder.
Amazing work though! This is going into my faves, for sure.
That is incredible. I am absolutely in love with the concept of this piece.

I'll see if I can fix up that grass. I couldn't figure out what was wrong with it until you mentioned the curviness. Thanks for the help, and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is so slick and beautiful. I love your attention to detail, both in the picture and the point about the wind. Let's see if I can get you a bit more exposure.

Ask not what you can do for art, but what art can do for you.
Some people have been asking me about this stuff so I decided to gather all information in one single article on how to make your own portfolio, in a profesional and clean looking way. I hope it's useful, because these steps I myself take.
In this article I will provide you some ideas how you can build your own homestudio for considerably cheaper price than it would cost to use "official" studio gear. I will also show you few examples where I have used the gear I describe during this article.
