Oh Durendel, you ugly big headed freak you.

I suppose this demands a sort of explanation.

Durendel is an offshoot of humanity in the very far future. Robotics and biological engineering have sort of grown together to the point where you could argue that Durendel is a robot or a living creature and both views would be correct.

Humanity has started branching out into all sorts of bizarre niches, aided by cybernetics and gene engineering. There are hive minds linked by antennae, carapace clad shipworkers, and deadly predator kings. Managing to deal with all these wildly different groups is far from easy, and trade between factions is very important (and profitable!).

So when negotiations get tough and the space whale union is griping about benefits somebody has to translate.

That's where people like Durendel come in. They're grown by companies (heck most people are) and designed not just to be able to translate, but negotiate and get people to listen to each other. It helps that they can learn thousands of languages too.

So I guess he's like a cross between an alien and C3P0.

Anyways Durendel gets involved with several wars between companies and he's a brilliant tactician or something like that.

Also, I keep saying "he" but Durendel is really genderless. He acts a bit more masculine than feminine, and I'm lazy, so he's called a he. No, there is nothing there to see.

Photoshop CS3 (a paid-for version!) and wacom tablet. So far the macbook handles photoshop really well and I'm enjoying it.

Certainly not what us boring, stone age humans are used to, but he's beautiful, has that sense of mass yet still retains a slim, graceful quality. I can't get over how awesomely...er...AWESOME you combined the two.
Just...woah....

I've been wondering when you'd put something new out. I certainly am not disappointed. Great stuff.

BTW, do you have a place where you collect all of your character stories? You seem to have one or two worlds you work from and I'd be interested in learning about the background stories as a cohesive collection. Or something like that. (I'm kinda flaked out on medication for a sinus infection right now... not very coherent)
